History

The Alpenhotel Post has a long tradition of hospitality

1958

Fritz Reich took over his parents’ house in Argenau 100 which, at the time, housed the post office and a rental flat. In the cellar, which originally provided stabling for the post coach horses, was a workshop.

In the same year he opened the Cafe Reich in the first floor of the house. Shortly afterwards, when the tenant moved out of the flat, Fritz Reich moved into the ground floor of the house and established the Cafe "Grillstube" Reich.

In 1996 the guesthouse began to specialise in facilities for guests travelling by motorbike.

The guesthouse was rebuilt, resulting in the present-day Hotel Post, with its indoor swimming pool and extensive spa complex, underground garage and six large family apartments. This also laid the foundation for the hotel’s second specialisation area – as a family hotel offering supervised child facilities. In 2005 and 2006 all the rooms in the main building underwent refurbishment.

In the early part of the year, in a record time of just 3 months and 3 weeks, a completely new Hotel Post was ready for business.

The main building was extended and renovated to include 21 quality suites and hotel rooms, a new kitchen, lobby, hotel bar, dining room and a traditional Bregenzerwald parlour, offering a la carte guests an especially congenial atmosphere in which to dine.
Exclusively locally sourced quality materials, such as wood, stone, leather and metal, were used in the construction of the new building.
Hotel owners Christian and Nicole are mad about the new-look alpine architecture, and they're not alone: it is also very popular with the hotel guests.
